I am often asked what’s the best way to study for an insurance exam. While it’s important to know how to properly prepare for a state licensing examination, it’s just as (if not maybe more so) important to know what not to do when getting ready to test. What follows are five reasons why people fail, not listed in any particular order. When you read the list that follows, you’ll likely think that nothing discussed applies to you. In fact, I’ll wager that at least one of them applies and likely more. Please read on for more information! Read the rest of this entry »

Pibbers! Good morning to all of you. I wanted to let you all know about the review for life and health insurance students that is going to be held on Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010 from 10:00 am until approximately 4:00 pm. The location of the review is at our Cedar Hills classroom and is at no cost for currently enrolled ProSchools students. For those who would like to attend the review that are not ProSchools enrolled students, you are welcome to join us. The cost for non-ProSchools students is $95, payable at the door for the entire review session and textbooks and related study materials are available for all students at a greatly reduced cost. We look forward to seeing you at the review session and remember that those who attend the review normally score 10-12 points higher on their examination compared to those who don’t attend the review! It’s all in the numbers! Keep working hard!

As the NAIC and the various states have geared up fully for the implementation of LTC Partnership policies throughout the country, ProSchools has sought and achieved certification for our long-term care course offering through ClearCert Compliance Solutions. ClearCert is a third-party compliance solution for the long-term care education community, and to quote their site at ClearCert:
The Deficit Reduction Act specifies that insurance carriers, not state insurance commissioners, are accountable for validating that their producers comply with training requirements. The 2006 Model Act affirmed that carriers must document agent training, although state insurance departments are expected to develop detailed requirements. This placed long-term care insurance carriers into an unfamiliar role and introduced a new training paradigm. Read the rest of this entry »

Good Morning, PIBbers! The State of Oregon has legislated that all health benefit plans covering Oregonians must provide payment, coverage or reimbursement of at least $500 for a tobacco use cessation program for a person enrolled in the plan who is 15 years of age or older. Enrolled Senate Bill 734, sponsored by Senator MORRISETTE; Senators BATES, MONNES ANDERSON and TELFER is effective January 1, 2010. This is a great way to kick the habit and have someone else pay for it! Read the rest of this entry »

Good morning everyone! ProSchools is proud to announce that we will be entering the Golden state of California within the near future! Quoted from 50states.com, I give you the following:
“The Golden State” has long been a popular designation for California and was made the official State Nickname in 1968. It is particularly appropriate since California’s modern development can be traced back to the discovery of gold in 1848 and fields of golden poppies can be seen each spring throughout the state.
Home to manifold professional sports teams including the Dodgers, Angels, Warriors, Lakers, 49ers, Giants, Raiders and more, California is one competitive state! Wait…where’s the professional football team in L.A.?
Speaking of competition, ProSchools is poised to offer state-of-the-art professional license training that is going to blow away the competition. Read on for more! Read the rest of this entry »
